THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA has been renewed for a second season. This v.3 of the REAL HOUSEWIVES franchise premiered Oct. 7/08 on Bravo with a 7-episode run. If casting for season 2 is anything like it was for the Orange County and NYC versions, they will use casting as an opportunity to create some buzz for season 2 and will then end up only adding one new cast member. JERSEY SHORE

JERSEY SHORE is the working title of a new docu-soap (à la The Hills, The Real Housewives, Miami Social, etc.) that VH1 is casting. They are looking for boys and girls of Italian descent who don’t mind being called Guidos and Guidettes, and think spending summertime on the Jersey Shore is actually cool. The copy on the casting notice is a hilarious example of Hollywood trying really hard to be hip, so check it out if for nothing more than the laugh it provides. The VINEYARD

The CW Network is currently casting The VINEYARD, a Hills-style docu-soap about summer life on Martha’s Vineyard. 25/7 Productions and Doron Ofir Casting are looking for groups of friends consisting of, “Year-round locals of the vineyard and returning summer revelers between the ages of 19 and 28.” You must be prepared to spend the summer on the island.

MIAMI SOCIAL / Fabulous People of Miami

For several months VPTV has been carrying a casting notice for FABULOUS PEOPLE OF MIAMI, the working title for a reality show in The Hills mode from Pink Sneakers Productions for an unnamed cable network. We can now report that the network is Bravo, the show is MIAMI SOCIAL and the series will air as part of Bravo's 2008-09 schedule.

As was the case with the original, The REAL HOUSEWIVES of ORANGE COUNTY, they solicited applications to be on season 2, and eventually added one new housewife - in this case Kelly Bensimon, a columnist for Hamptons Magazine and editor-at-large for Hamptons, Gotham, and LA Confidential magazines. To all those who replied, remember: we warned you they were likely only looking for 1 new housewife.

The OC version features event planner Brian Dobbin and his chef, Robin, as they design and execute "the Bentley of parties" for the influential Southern California elite. The LV version stars Brian "Breakfast" Rice, a party planner known for spectacular events that "always deliver the unexpected." TOP THIS PARTY completed casting for season 1 in early January/08 (under the working title It's My Party), a mere 2 weeks before the series premiered on Lifetime.

Documentary reality series The SECRET LIVES OF SOCCER MOMS premiered on TLC February/08. The series documents the lives of women who have given up their careers to be stay-at-home wives and mothers.

Casting for season 2 opened March 23/08 and was supposed to close on April 23rd, but wound up being extended to May 9th. They were looking for families in the LA and Dallas areas only.
